Cluedo/Clue - Character Art (Android, App Store, Steam)

Have the pleasure to finally show what I have been up to since the end of 2022 with work! Been working alongside very talented people within the different sectors of game development on the new Cluedo game for Android, App Store, Steam Playstation, XBox and Switch which was released (23th of August, 2023).
This project gave me the opportunity to learn a lot when it came to character art of this level for games. To me, it was the first game where I worked mainly as a character artist. Had a lot of fun and it was great seeing first hand the growth of the project overall, in my opinion the team did an awesome job!
.
I was responsible for the highpoly, retopolgy, UVs and texturing of the characters presented here. On average the characters have around 20k tris, I also had to keep in mind that the assets were targeted for mobile, meaning that I had to be careful with the limitations.
.
Did just a bit of shapekeys and animated a bit, though when it came to animation, posing, rigging, skinning and tweaks of these characters, Francisco Azevedo (3D Lead), Joana Salgueiro (3D artist) and Ruben Martins (3D artist) were the experts behind it. Learnt from them better ways to prepare the character for animation/rigging, making things easier overall on the workflow.
The ingame shaders and base Smart Material that would be used throughout the project were created by 3D artist Pedro Pereira.
.
Shoutout to Harry Coke (3D Artist), they were great to work with (they worked on characters as well and more for this project), and it was great to have someone to exchange ideas and ways to approach certain aspects of our responsibilities. I mention on a few of the images presented here some of the work they did that I got to reuse for a couple of characters aimed for the Resort theme.
.
For the concept art and visual guidance, I used the awesome work done by Sofia Augusto (Project's Lead 2D Artist), Dan Fiddis (2D Artist) and Pedro Potier (Lead 2D Artist). Their help made it easier with the ways I would approach certain details on the characters, and made the workflow overall smoother.

Below you can find the links to the portfolios of the artists that I mentioned, definitely worth a look:
